Planes, cars and boats… Harbour Island is in the outer islands of the Bahamas, also known as Briland or Dunmore Town.

PLANES

The closest airport to Briland is North Eleuthera (ELH). From the airport, we will take a 3 minute taxi ride ($5/per person) to Three Island Dock and a 5 minute water taxi ($5/per person) whisks us to the island.

From the States:

There are direct, nonstop flights to ELH from Miami (MIA) on American Airlines and from Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) on Silver Airways (you can also book Silver flights/use mileage with United!). Typically there is only one flight per day on each carrier and they tend to fly small-ish jets so definitely book in advance for those options.

Delta Airlines flies direct to ELH from Atlanta (ATL) but only on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Gold Aviation is a private charter out of Ft. Lauderdale that may be a good option for a group flying together if tickets seem high on other carriers but you can get affordable flights to FLL.

From Nassau

Bahamas Air and Pineapple Air fly to ELH but the connections are often a bit wonky. It’s an option though! Some of you may be able to find good flights on JetBlue but they fly to Nassau and you need to get out to Harbour Island (ELH)

BOATS

Another option is to take the Bahamas Fast Ferry from Nassau which sometimes requires staying overnight in Nassau in both directions, as the time of departure depends on the tides/time of year.
